Switzerland is setting an example by adapting the regulations for cargo bikes. This brings it closer to European regulations. These changes make cargo e-bikes a groundbreaking solution in the transportation sector \u2013 for both private and business applications.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.astra.admin.ch\/astra\/de\/home\/fachleute\/fahrzeuge\/vernehmlassung-verkehrsflaechen.html\">On December 13, 2024, the Federal Council took an important step for the future of e-mobility:<\/a> a new regulation that will revolutionize the use of cargo e-bikes will come into force on July 1, 2025.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-d2e02b0 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"d2e02b0\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-9217844\" data-id=\"9217844\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7f66d60 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7f66d60\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What exactly is changing?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2509706 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2509706\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol><li><strong>New category: heavy motorized bicycles.<\/strong> Vehicles with a total weight of up to <strong>450 kg<\/strong> will be allowed on public roads in the future \u2013 with a moped license (category M). This means: heavier loads, fewer obstacles.<\/li><li><strong>Increased weight limit for light motorized bicycles<\/strong><br \/>The new limit is<strong> 250 kg<\/strong> \u2013 and these vehicles still do not require a license for drivers aged 16 and over (or 14 and over with a category M license).
