Repairing the E-Bike Display:

If your e-bike display cannot be switched on, there can naturally be several reasons. A simple cause that you can identify and fix yourself is the following: You haven’t used your e-bike for a while. In this case, the battery automatically enters a protection mode or “winter sleep,” preventing you from turning on the display on the handlebars. To reactivate the e-bike battery, most models have a button directly on the battery itself. Pressing this button should start the battery, allowing you to turn the display back on. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Changing an E-Bike Tire:<\/span>

Whether you have a flat, a nail in the tire, or simply want to swap your e-bike’s summer tires for winter tires\u2014all of these require a tire change. For this, you will need a few tools: a wrench, tire levers, and an air pump, or you can get a multi-tool designed for e-bikes. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

First, remove the e-bike battery by unlocking the lock and taking the battery off. Additionally, disconnect the plug connection next to the drive wheel. Caution! Make sure the drive system is switched off before doing this! <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Now you can loosen the wheel, which usually works with a 15 mm open-end wrench. Next, pull the rear derailleur back to bypass the gear shift. Now carefully pull the wheel out of the axle mount. After that, take the tire lever and gently pry the tire over the rim. Then loosen the valve cap and the knurled nut to completely pull the inner tube off the rim.

Now it’s time for the new inner tube. This should only be slightly inflated so you can gradually fit it over the tire. Once that is done, you can fully inflate it. Of course, you can also try to repair the damaged tube using a standard repair kit. Once everything is in place, reinstall the wheel and reattach and tighten everything in reverse order.

Oiling the E-Bike Chain:<\/span>

Every chain should be oiled from time to time. At the latest, when pedaling becomes stiff, it is time to clean and oil your chain. First, clean the chain, cassette, chainrings, and derailleur pulleys with an old rag. Once the drivetrain is clean, you can apply the new oil. Turn the crank and place a drop of oil onto each link. Make sure to oil the inside, not the outside\u2014this ensures the oil gets where it actually belongs. To avoid having too much oil on the chain, which attracts dirt and leads to faster wear, wipe off excess oil with a dry rag after a few minutes and a few turns of the crank. If the e-bike battery refuses to charge, there can be various reasons. A specific issue occurs in winter: since very high and very low temperatures damage the battery, you should not leave it outside on the bike during winter\u2014this can cause a deep discharge, leading to a defective battery. Improper, overly cold storage also leads to deep discharge. Additionally, individual cells or the battery’s fuse may no longer function. Long story short: once the battery is defective, you shouldn’t tamper with it at home, but rather seek professional help. However, you can prevent a defective battery by handling it carefully: avoiding contact with water, extreme temperatures, and total discharge will help protect the longevity of the battery.
