BionX batteries can be professionally repaired in our workshop. Since new replacement batteries are hardly available for these systems anymore, repair is often the only way to continue using your e-bike.
Cell replacement & capacity upgrade
We replace used cells with new brand-name cells. This often allows us to significantly increase capacity, giving you more range than with the original battery.
Electronics reactivation
If the battery is deeply discharged or “asleep,” we can often unlock and reactivate the battery management system (BMS).
Troubleshooting the charging socket
We repair defects such as the well-known green flashing light ring or contact problems during charging.
Software customization
Since hardware and software are closely linked at BionX, we use special interfaces to program the new cell capacity directly into the electronics. This ensures that the display on your screen once again matches the actual range.

E-bike battery repair: How we get your bike back on the road
1. Describe the problem
Simply fill out our form and describe what is wrong with your battery.
You don't have to decide on a service yet—we'll take a look at it.
You will receive a confirmation with all further information.
2. Bring or send the battery to us
Since batteries are considered hazardous goods, you have two options:
In person: Bring your battery (and charger!) directly to us in Rapperswil. This is the safest option and does not cost you any postage.
Shipping: Swiss Post does not transport used lithium batteries. Please use a private logistics service provider and pack the battery well-padded in a sturdy cardboard box.
3. Diagnosis & Repair
Our specialists will thoroughly examine your battery.
Only after the diagnosis do we decide together which repair (e.g., cell replacement or electronics check) really makes sense.
4. Full speed ahead
Once everything has been checked and tested, you can pick up your battery from us again or we can arrange for it to be returned to you by a specialist shipping company.
