A new chapter: XCYC becomes part of YouMo
A major step was the integration of the XCYC brand, which enabled us to expand our portfolio. As a result, we have created new solutions that are specially designed for commercial use.
Since the takeover, we have integrated XCYC into our processes and developed it further. Together with STEMA, we have developed a tiltable loading platform that makes gardening and landscaping easier and offers a sustainable solution for professionals.
XCYC not only stands for ‘Excites Cycling’ but also for resilience, modularity, reliability and quality – indispensable for sustainable logistics. Our mission: Cargo e-bikes for the highest demands in everyday life.
Go SwissDrive: Repairs that save lives – for e-bikes
Of course, we have further expanded our repair and spare parts service for the Go SwissDrive system. Once again, several hundred e-bikes were ‘saved’ from the scrapyard through repairs and customised spare parts – an important contribution to sustainability. With the introduction of replaceable gearing, we have eliminated the ‘Achilles heel’ of the motor. An important step towards increasing durability and serviceability.
We now offer the service for more than 30 different brands, which shows how widely it is used.
Our approach shows that ‘total losses’ are avoidable. We can repair and refurbish defective motors, displays and other components in a targeted manner, giving many e-bikes a new lease of life.
Eurobike 2024 - A meeting place for progress
At Eurobike, we put XCYC centre stage. Customers were able to test the e-cargo bikes and share their feedback with us. This feedback helps us to make the models even better.
The versatility of the XCYC models, e.g. for the last mile or municipal use, was particularly well received. The feedback from customers and partners has given us valuable ideas on how we can further customise and improve the products.
Christmas party with XCYC cargo bike challenge
Our Christmas party offered the perfect mix of festive atmosphere and action-packed team event. Not only were we able to celebrate in the new, spacious premises, but some of the new employees were also able to experience the versatility of the XCYC cargo bikes for themselves for the first time.
In the ‘XCYC Challenge’, two blindfolded teams competed against each other and manoeuvred the bikes through a course under the control of a navigator. They also had to answer a quiz. Teamwork, precision, trust and co-operation were put to the test.
The evening was rounded off in typical Swiss style – with raclette, a huge Toblerone and a great atmosphere.
What will 2025 bring?
With growth comes a move to larger, more modern premises. From labyrinthine rooms spread over several floors and only accessible via a staircase, we are moving to a ground-floor location with large, open-plan offices, plenty of space for assembly and a warehouse within easy reach. This not only offers more space for the future, but also opens up new opportunities for even more efficient collaboration and innovation.
