XCYC WORK in use for municipal services and garden maintenance
For about two years, the XCYC WORK has been a fixed part of the maintenance team’s equipment: groundskeeper Daniel Hitz in the municipality of Eschenbach SG uses the three-wheeled cargo e-bike daily for maintaining the sports facilities — from lawn care to waste disposal to transporting small equipment and accessories.
On an August morning, we met with Daniel, where he and his colleagues use the XCYC cargo e-bike with railing attachment every day. We wanted to see what they use the bike for most often and how it helps them in their daily work routine.
Daniel Hitz's daily work in sports field maintenance
As the municipality’s groundskeeper, Daniel Hitz is responsible for maintaining the sports facilities: lawn care, litter removal, material transport, and general upkeep work are among his daily tasks.
For about two years, he has been handling a large part of this work with the XCYC WORK, a three-wheeled cargo e-bike specially developed for professional continuous use.
XCYC WORK in practical use: loading, transport, disposal
Dani loads the large cargo bed with waste bins and drives them across walkways and artificial turf fields directly to the disposal stations, where he empties the containers into large waste containers.
Besides trash bins, he also transports with the XCYC WORK, among other things:
- Paint for marking field lines
- Small tools and equipment for lawn and grounds maintenance
- Accessories for goals and sports equipment
Because the vehicle remains maneuverable on narrow paths and sensitive lawn areas thanks to its small turning radius of 460 cm, the XCYC WORK replaces many routes that previously had to be covered on foot or with larger vehicles.
